Kansas State School Board Outcomes: KR, IPS, HSG, PSC, SEG Kansas School Redesign Principles: SS, PL, CP, RWA In this session, the State Coordinator for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth (EHCY) will assist local McKinney-Vento homeless liaisons, administrators and their staff to identify homeless students. Requirements associated with the McKinney Vento Homeless Assistance Act as reauthorized by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) will be discussed and topics include: definition of homeless, transportation, unaccompanied homeless youth, and implications for preschool students. This session fulfills the annual mandatory requirement for local liaison professional development.
