Kansas State School Board Outcomes: SEG Kansas School Redesign Principles: SSS Participants will explore the Kansans Can Competency Framework through focusing on one of three competencies (i.e., self-regulation, assertiveness and self-efficacy) for self-assessment, building knowledge and brainstorming instruction. Aligned with the CASEL rubric and KS Social-Emotional Character Development (SECD) Standards, these competencies can be taught, practiced and reinforced in every classroom, Pre-K through 12. Throughout the hour, participants will complete a set of small group activities where they reflect on current instruction/practice, review critical SEL curriculum pieces, learn foundational concepts, and view examples of instructional practices in classroom settings. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of how readily available tools and resources can be utilized for embedding SEL in daily instruction.
